Nurture The Goose; Don't Worry About The Golden Eggs

It has been an inspiring 2 weeks. I was temporarily back to in-person work (I was in Seattle last week evaluating 14 HIIT Lab instructors & providing big-picture advisory to the studio founder; SO FUN!)

and

had the fastest trip in memory to NYC, (my longtime hometown!) to attend The Welcome Conference.

I have a lot to share with you, which I hope is helpful to you & your fitness business in some way…but I'll keep it to one & less than 250 words.

There were many highlights @ Welcome, but the phrase 'nurture the goose; don't worry about the golden eggs' has especially been on my mind.

The phrase was a big takeaway from London-based Shamil Thakrar's session and was said to him, repeatedly, at meetings with his investors. With his cousin, Shamil co-founded the restaurant Dishoom in 2010 with with a clear vision to provide representation in the space between Michellin-starred Indian restaurants & a simple curry house. Rooted-in Bombay, they are now 15 locations in the UK…and opening in NYC in 2026. (!!!!)

When we nurture and invest-into 'the goose'; the talented faces throughout a restaurant, boutique fitness studio, boutique hotel, bakery, etc

AND

'the other goose'; the guests we serve…and our focus is on articulating, defining then repeating incredible fitness classes…the golden eggs will come.

Have a great rest of your week!
